I loves me some chowder! Recently Mindy and I drove to the coast of Massachusetts for lunch, just to savor the taste of home made clam chowder, which is why I need to let fellow chowder fans know about "Chowdafest 2015" thanks to New Fairfield's Hamlet Hub!

Jim Keenan is the genius behind "Chowdafest" and is thrilled about the new location this year at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Chowdafest is actually a culinary competition where you get to sample as many cups of chowder as you'd like and vote for your favorites from 40 different restaurants that are invited to participate.

Every New England state will be represented, as will America's #1 chowder from Washington state.

There will be 4 categories with 10 restaurants in each category and the categories are "New England," ....."Clear Broth" just for Rhode Island......"Manhattan" which is tomato based....."Creative Chowders," and "Soup and Bisque."
