It's very rare to see a rock band have it's members pursue solo careers with little to no drama left behind. That doesn't mean the band's fans can't create their own drama, however. It's time to choose which is better: Peter Gabriel solo or Phil Collins solo?

Let's get a quick run-down of each artist's solo careers first. We'll start with Peter Gabriel's impressive accomplishments. Cue the dancing turkeys please.

PETER GABRIEL: Gabriel has recorded nine studio albums between 1977 to 2011, all but one cracked the top 40 with three going top ten, two of those going all the way to #2. It didn't take him long to make an impression as a solo artist with early hit singles like "Solsbury Hill", "Games Without Frontiers" and "Shock The Monkey". Gabriel really hit his stride, however, in 1986 with the album 'So' (1986) which went all the way to #2 on the Billboard charts and sold five million copies in the US alone thanks to future classics like "Sledgehammer", "Big Time", "In Your Eyes" and "Red Rain". It was impossible to turn on MTV without seeing any of these videos. They were ground-breaking visual compliments to brilliant recordings. In 1992 Gabriel showed he still had the magic with 'Us' which included the MTV and radio-friendly songs "Digging In The Dirt" and "Steam". He would go on to release the critically acclaimed 'Up' (2002), 'Scratch My Back' (2010) and 'New Blood' (2011).

Now it's Phil Collins' turn. Try not to let his stare break your focus. He's really a nice guy, he just likes to get up close to you on pretty much all of his album covers.

PHIL COLLINS: There was a time in the mid to late 80s where you couldn't NOT see or hear Phil Collins. He was on the radio, he was on MTV, he was appearing on television shows like "Miami Vice", he was even on movie screens with the 1988 film "Buster". It was the decade of Phil Collins. His solo career began in 1981 with the 5x platinum selling album 'Face Value' which spawned his first solo hit song "In The Air Tonight", still a mainstay on classic rock to this day. That was followed by the album's second big single "I Missed Again". Collins was just getting started, however, as he would release three more solo albums in the 80s like 1982's 'Hello, I Must Be Going' (featuring "You Can't Hurry Love" & "I Don't Care Anymore"), 1985's 'No Jacket Required' (featuring "Sussudio", "One More Night", "Don't Lose My Number" and "Take Me Home") and 1989's '...But Seriously' ("I Wish It Would Rain Down", "Something Happened On The Way To Heaven", "Hang In Long Enough"). Collins' 'No Jacket Required' album was his commercial knock-out punch as it sold 12 million copies in the US alone. His hot streak cooled off in the 90s, however, but he continued to release solid solo efforts like 'Both Sides' (1993) and 'Dance Into The Light' (1996) and two more in the 2000s with 'Testify' (2002) and 'Going Back' (2010).

So now that you've got the refresher course in Gabriel/Collins solo career achievements, who will you choose? Some go with hit singles as the primary factor while others just go simply on how good the music is, hit or no hit.

It's time to vote:
