The Connecticut DOT has a new website exclusively for the Brass City traffic conditions.

With the massive I-84 widening project well underway, you may never know when the workers will have to take a lane or two out of commission. Taking just one lane out can cause traffic to back up Eastbound from Middlebury, or Westbound from Cheshire in a few minutes.

The CT DOT has created a nice new website to check real-time conditions through the construction zone. It's i-84waterbury.com . It's very nicely designed, offering an interactive map that shows you a traffic cam shot, and color-coded speed sensors that estimate the amount of time it will take you to get from the Town Plot side of town to the East End side.

This project is going to take YEARS to complete. Estimation of completion is the year 2020! If you are a cross-Waterbury commuter, this website should prove to be invaluable over the next 5 years. Bookmark it now.
