There’s a really cool camp program for kids this summer from the Ridgefield Playhouse. It's for aspiring filmmakers ages 12 to 16 years old. Kids can learn movie-making techniques using something they have with them all the time, their cell phones. Filmmaker Katie Torpey is going to teach the class, which will help students learn script writing, directing, editing, the basics of working with equipment and lots more.

The Ridgefield Playhouse is located at 80 East Ridge, in Ridgefield. All year they feature lots of great shows and some of the best touring talent, but this educational experience could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for young film buffs.

This is a two-week camp taking place place between July 9th to July 20th, Monday through Friday, running 9 am to 5 pm. Each camper gets to make and exhibit their own short film in the program. $1350 is the cost for two weeks, or $575 a week, with an equipment fee of $200 and campers get to keep equipment. There is a $250 non refundable deposit.
