Firefighters from all over New York State have been busy this week fighting a 2,000 acre brush fire in Ulster County.  While the fire is mostly contained at this point, Brewster firefighters report that the fire crews are running out of supplies, and they'd like to help out.

According to Albany's News 10, the fire has been raging since Sunday at the Minnewaska State Park Preserve.  While no homes have been damaged, over 2000 acres have burned.

The Brewster Fire Department will be collecting supplies through 5 PM Saturday, April 30 at their headquarters, 501 North Main Street in Brewster.

The firefighters are in particular need of bottled water, Gatorade, dry socks, toilet paper and diaposable bath wipes.
