It was only a matter of time before you were able to walk into a retail establishment and purchase human breast milk. The Human Breast Milk Depot, the first of its kind in Connecticut, opened in Guilford on February 25 according to milkbankne.org. Where does the breast milk come from? Amy Farotti, a breast milk donor told WFSB that she's a nursing mom who produces more breast milk than she needs and felt that wasting what she had left over was wrong.

The way it works, according to zip06.com is that registered donors can drop off donated breast milk which is fed to premature and sick babies in need. The milk is tested for HIV, HTLV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C and then tested again after the pasteurization process.

For more info about receiving or donating breast milk, call Mother's Milkbank Northeast at 617-527-6263 or on the internet at milkbankne.org.

On the website onlythebreast.com you're able to sell your breast milk via one of their classified ads. I don't know about you, but I'm bothered by the ad's disclaimer aimed obviously at the pervs, which reads, "No Adult Wet Nursing, No Pictures, No Videos, Donation to a BABY ONLY!'
