Body of Norwich Teen Kayaker Found – Here Are Some Kayaking Safety Tips
Kayaking has it's own dangers attached. All types of boating safety is such a must.
Last week, I did a story about a proposal advanced by state lawmakers sets a minimum age for anyone driving a boat pulling a skier or tuber. The state Senate passed a bill prompted by a boating accident last summer that killed 16-year-old Emily Fedorko.
Sadly we lost another teen this past weekend. Police say they have found the body of a teenager who had gone missing in Norwich after his kayak flipped over last week.
Police said that the body of 17-year-old Karl Joseph was discovered Sunday afternoon close to where the boat had capsized, FOX CT reports. He had been kayaking with two friends around 10 p.m. on May 3 when his boat flipped over. His empty kayak was found about 300 feet north of the Greeneville Dam.
I can't begin to imagine the losses these families feel. And the tragedy felt by the young friends both Emily and Karl were with when these incidents occurred. So, to that end I pray that Emily's Law passes in the House. You can read more about Emily's Law by clicking HERE.
