Seldom do you read about the backup musicians who are chosen to tour with well known rock bands. Saxophonist, Mark Rivera happens to be one of those incredibly talented musicians who's worked with Foreigner, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel, and currently is on tour with Billy Joel.

Not to namedrop, but we're proud to call Mr. Rivera a friend of the I-95 "Ethan and Lou Morning Show." Two years ago he volunteered his time and talent to appear on our "Camping For Cans" food drive. Occasionally he'll stop by to chat and wail a sax solo for us.

Mark Rivera's first solo album, "Common Bond" just dropped on February 18th. The album features Billy Joel playing a sizzling Hammond B3 organ on the Jimi Hendrix classic, "Spanish Castle Magic." Also on the album are guest appearances by Ringo Starr, Nils Lofgren, and Steve Lukather. Mark's first solo effort is smokin'! The album is a collective mix of rock, pop, and soul. Look for Mark alongside Billy Joel for Billy's Madison Square Garden residency and check out his website, for some upcoming solo dates and don't be surprised if he happens to wander into the I-95 studios in the near future.
