The Bethel Police Department is looking to the public for assistance in identifying a woman (pictured above) who they say is responsible for stealing a donation box from a local store.

According to social media post from the BPD, the woman in the photo arrived at the Wheels gas station/convenience store at 82 Stony Hill Rd. at about 10:45 PM on Wednesday, July 11. At that point, police say she parked her car in a dark section of the parking lot, proceeded to head inside, and then took a charity donation box with an undisclosed amount of cash and coins from the store's counter before quickly taking off.

The car she was reportedly appears to be similar to a gold or tan early 2000s model Toyota Corolla, which an employee on duty on the time said had a broken tail light on the left side.

Anyone who may be able to identify the woman in the photo or the vehicle police described should contact Bethel Detective Frank O'Farrel at 203-744-7900. All information will remain confidential.
