A mainstay in Bethel since May of 2010, Greenwood's Grill and Ale House at 186 Greenwood Ave. has closed up shop.

The Bethel Advocate posted the notice on April 21 by saying:

On April 26th, Matt and Susan will be closing the doors to Greenwoods. We would like to thank everyone for coming in over the last seven years and making Greenwoods an enjoyable place to be.

Back in October of 2016, Greenwood's was chosen by DVlicious as one of five finalists in the Best Craft Beer Bar in Fairfield County contest. Greenwood's offered up 19 beers on tap along with some tasty comfort food. The restaurant was housed in the old Bethel Opera House which was built in 1860. Through the years the building housed a hat manufacturing business, a silent movie theatre, and even an old roller skating rink.

What is to become of the former Greenwood's Grille location? There has been no word about who may be taking over the former restaurant location. You can bet when I find out, you'll read about in one of my blogs, right here at i95rock.com.
