While they're saving up for tickets to the band's upcoming 50th anniversary reunion shows, Grateful Dead fans may also want to set aside some money for a pair of new albums drawing from the Dead's extensive archives.

On March 31, the band is scheduled to release 'The Best of the Grateful Dead,' a double-disc compilation arriving on CD as well as Apple Lossless and HD FLAC digital download formats. Collecting 32 tracks in all, 'Best' offers highlights from each of the Dead's studio albums, and promises to "cover the key waypoints on the band’s mystical musical journey."

Deadheads can also look forward to the impending arrival of 'Dave's Picks Vol. 14,' the next installment in the group's long-running series of live archival releases. Available to subscription holders (you can buy into the series here until Jan. 22), 'Vol. 14' commemorates the band's March 26, 1972, performance at the Academy of Music in New York City and represents the first soundboard recording of the show ever to enter wide circulation.
