According to the Republican American, on April 1 in Thomaston, a very sick bald eagle that was full of toxins was rescued by Audubon Sharon

The eagle could barely stand up because it was so weak. After a blood test, it was found to have toxins like mercury, lead, and a compound used to euthanize animals in its blood stream.

The eagle was found face down near the Thomaston Dam. According to a spokesperson at Audubon Sharon, whatever the eagle was eating was making it very sick. The eagle is 7 to 9-years-old and is recovering very nicely.

This reminds me of Buddy, a peach faced love bird that we purchased for our daughter back in 2000. One day, Buddy was looking a little down in the dumps, wasn't eating, wasn't pooping on my shoulder as often, and seemed depressed. So, I took Buddy to the Avian specialist to get the lowdown. As it turns out, Buddy was having difficulty digesting the fatty material in his bird food. I had to leave him at the vet overnight, and that cost me a bundle of cash.

We almost lost Buddy that night when he vapor locked and stopping breathing. The vet had to do CPR with his pinky finger, and brought Buddy back to life, and that also cost me an ass-load of money! They sent Buddy home with medication and a new diet, which I had to administer by sticking a tube down its gullet. The good news is that Buddy fully recovered and the good news is that we traded Buddy in for Lucy, an 85 pound rescue dog. True story!
