The Tappan Zee Bridge could turn into a huge traffic mess this weekend.

According to the Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow Patch,  the New York State Thruway Authority will be closing three northbound lanes of the Tappan Zee Bridge this weekend, which is guaranteed to cause massive traffic delays.

Construction work will close the northbound lanes - Westchester County to Rockland County from 9pm, Friday(4/29) until 2pm on Saturday(4/30). Those three lanes will be closed again on Saturday from 9pm until 2pm on Sunday.(5/1)

The southbound lanes of the Tappan Zee will remain open. WARNING! WARNING! The Thruway Authority are telling motorists to seek an alternative route from 6am until 2pm both Saturday and Sunday IF you're traveling northbound on I-87 / I-287.

As of April 6, 2016, the concrete piers for the Westchester approach are almost completed. Check out the photo.
