It's called 2004 BL86 and it's headed this way.

It's a big one.  It's 1,800 feet across so it could do serious damage, but it won't. It won't because NASA says it will miss us by 745,000 miles. Apparently, that's not a big distance when it comes to these things.

Scientists say it will be the closet known encounter of it's type. Amateur astronomers should be able to see it with telescopes and binoculars. Which is awesome because I just happen to be the proud owner of a telescope.

It would be nice if they had told us when to look for it, but apparently they have not gotten that far yet.

Damn you NASA, damn you.

Yahoo News, however, says it'll be here around Monday,  Jan. 26.
