Take your kids for a "ride" this summer at one of Connecticut and New York's awesome amusement parks!

People have crossed the Atlantic Ocean to ride on the "Wooden Warrior" at the "Quassy Amusement and Water Park." The director of marketing for Quassy, Ron Gustafson, told the News-Times that the coaster has won many awards since it opened five years ago.

Get your dinosaur on at Lake Compunce in Bristol with their new Dino Expedition featuring a dozen life like dinosaurs, which are controlled by animatronics. They look and move like real dinosaurs as they follow "prehistoric paths" and roar and track their prey, according to the News-Times. It's a must see for the kids!

Rye Playland in Rye New York, features three types of rides, "Kiddyland," "Family," and "Thrill Rides!" Try the "Double Shot" if you dare. This catapults you up an 85 foot tower in two seconds and then shoots you back down to the bottom at a negative 1-G Force and then does it again!! How about the "Dragon Coaster," where you plunge into a 128 foot drop into the mouth of a fire breathing dragon!

If you're not too far away from New London, CT., check out "Ocean Beach Park" at 98 Neptune Ave. featuring one of the very best "sugar-sand beaches" in the Northeast. The News-Times reports that OBP is geared more towards the family, featuring amusement rides, arcades, miniature golf, and a pool/waterslide/spray park.
