When I was a kid all I cared about was Star Wars and come Christmas time it was all about asking Santa for Star Wars guys as I called them.

They were guys...not dolls.  Anytime someone called them dolls I freaked out.  I kept many of my action figures all these years and just recently turned them over to my boys.  That is why this Christmas was so special for me as a gift giver.  Finally a new movie comes out and my kids were excited about it and they are just the right age.  This Christmas brought back all sorts of memories.  It also made me legitimately jealous of my kids.  The things we bought them I wanted for myself.  They got light sabres, masks and even posters.

I was downright giddy when it came time to show my light sabre skills of to my boys and they learned pretty quickly that there is a genuine Jedi master living in our house.  The good and bad thing is the technology and toys have advanced so far that they have truly cool Star Wars toys.  When I was a kid you took a branch from a tree and that was your light sabre.  Now they have functional, light up light sabres.  These kids don't know how good they have it.  Now the only debate I have is when to give them their toys back.  I am not lying when I say that I played with one of their light sabres for like 40 minutes the other day until they begged me to give it back.  I agreed and leaned down to my son Chris and handed him his sabre and simply said:  "May the force be with you."  It was a true passing of the torch for me....for him it did not mean as much.
