It's the most wonderful time of the year to go to the movies. And hopefully next year, we can enjoy them in Southbury!

I first read about the possible movie theater in Southbury a few months ago. It's a proposed 8-10 screen theater, with some retail stores in the same complex. Located on a 23 acre parcel of land, right next to the Post Office on Main Street South. From what I saw of the artist's rendition, it stays in line with Southbury's architecture. A retaining wall and basically a park will semi-block the view of the parking lot from Main Street South itself.  My brother just opened a business in that stretch, and he's all for it, but I know there has been some opposition. Growing up in Waterbury, we had the options of the Colonial Plaza theaters(And Crazy 8!), Naugatuck Valley Mall theaters, and also Southington. Now? You have to brave the Brass Mill Center and those damn kids! Well, hopefully this wins approval. I love Southbury, the big Main Street "Retail-ization" of the late 90's and 2000's has turned the town into a shopping destination. Just my opinion, but let's get that construction started now!
