At 6pm on Christmas eve of '76, "The Bitch Is Back" by Elton John christened the very first rock n' roll radio station in northern Fairfield County CT, and the rest is history. Allow me to get into a bit more detail about the "who" and "when" of "The I-95 Morning Show." I-95's first morning show host and Program Director was Tom Zarecki, who was instrumental in the creation of I-95. Tom is currently a professor teaching Communications at WCSU. "The Breakfast Flakes" featuring Buzz Knight and Tim Scott which turned eventually into Tim Scott and Mark Devine worked the I-95 Morning Show up till '86. Both versions of "The Breakfast Flakes" were the morning show winners in the greater Danbury area. Tim and Mark eventually ended up doing mornings at KDKB in Phoenix for 12 years and Buzz found his new niche as "The Human Calzone!" No, seriously.....At a local pizza establishment, Buzz was layed out flat on a table and was then covered with pizza dough and sauce!! None of the taste testers could be reached for comment. Buzz currently works in radio management at Greater Media Inc.in Boston.
