2 Poughkeepsie Men Arrested Following Traffic Stop on Taconic State
Two Poughkeepsie men were arrested for drug possession following a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway.
State Police pulled over a vehicle operated by 25-year-old Chad Savage on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley for traveling 75 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.
Following an investigation, police say they found Savage and the car’s passenger, 27-year-old Dean Hanniford, to be in possession of marijuana. Hanniford was allegedly also in possession of around 3 grams of cocaine.
Hanniford was charged with 5th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Hanniford was arraigned in the Town of Putnam Valley Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $3,500 cash bail or $7,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court on April 12.
Savage was issued a traffic ticket for speeding and an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was released from police custody and is due to appear in Putnam Valley Town Court on April 14.
